museum admission is free so often, no one should ever complain about tickets prices.

if you’re like me, you need more than a day to get through a museum. if not, you probably still like free stuff, so go ahead and keep reading.

we all know that the Getty, Griffith Observatory, Skirball Cultural Center, and most “store-front” or university galleries never charge for entry. but here’s a breakdown of when you can get into the rest, completely free:
(heads up, Bank of America card-holders: click here for some extra museum free days.)

FIRST TUESDAY: Natural History Museum, Page Museum at the La Brea Tar Pits
THURSDAYS, all day: Geffen Contemporary, Hammer, Skirball Galleries

THIRD THURSDAY: Japanese American National Museum
FIRST FRIDAY: Norton Simon Musuem
FIRST SUNDAY: Bowers Musuem
and for a bonus: LACMA will also be free September 3rd, January 21st, and February 18th.
